hello!!! i ponned 3rd lang!!! i'm so guai right! because i want to study history!!!
seriously, the textbook teaches nothing.
people!!! if you want to know more about nazi germany (which i can attest to you is a really interesting (if sadistic) topic), read these books!!!
-a social history of the third reich, by richard grunberger (talks about the various aspects of life in nazi germany, from jokes to politics and music, education, film, etc)
-after the holocaust, whose author i forgot
-the assasination of reinhard heydrich, by callum macdonald (reinhard heydrich - the leader of the SD and gestapo. brutal monster who has no qualms about getting rid of his allies for his own gain. assasinated by czech spies in 1942)
-the warlord and the renegade, whose author i forgot (it's about hermann and albert goering (brothers), one's a fervent nazi, the other spent most his time during WWII saving jews. a fascinating read.)
-sophie scholl and the white rose, WAIF (the white rose was a resistance group in munich during WWII. they spread leaflets criticising hitler and the nazis)
-himmler and the final solution, WAIF (himmler - head of the SS. behind his dunce-like exterior lay a cold and calculating mind with absolutely no moral conscience at all)
-schindler's list (it's a memoir by a person saved by oskar schindler's list. this guy saved about 1200 jews in WWII), WAIF
-thanks to my mother, WAIF (it's by this latvian (i think) holocaust survivor)
i've read many more holocaust memoirs/nazi germany history books but i've forgotten their titles. anyway you can get them from the library or any respectable bookstore (read: not popular)
some films you might find interesting:
the pianist
der untergang (the downfall - in german. about hitler's last days in the fuhrerbunker where he was hiding)
right, i think i shan't bore you with all my rantings, i have to go study history now!
